Weighing just over 600 grams and about the size of a paperback book, the Intel Reader provides all the power of a bulky PC plus scanner in a convenient size for school, home, or on the move. The Intel Reader fits easily into a schoolbag or backpack and has a sturdy magnesium case and generous battery life of up to 4 hours continuous use.
In the classroom, teachers can continue to use existing worksheets and other printed material. Students can use the Intel Reader to access course material and lesson content as it is handed out. They simply point, shoot, and quickly listen to handouts, tests and books and the earphones allow private listening, clearly and discreetly, without disturbing others.

The Intel Reader is easy to use. Just point, shoot, and listen to quickly access printed text such as schoolwork, work material, or menus on the spot. The Intel Reader does not require sight to operate. Easy-to-locate buttons, audio and visual navigation, and straightforward menus make it easy to locate the functions you need. For people with low vision, the large screen display can zoom in and out and text size can easily be adjusted.

An optional accessory, the Intel® Portable Capture Station (pictured above) is a sturdy stand that holds the camera in position to enable quick and convenient capture of large amounts of text. A transparent film holds books flat and the large, easy-to find ‘capture’ button on the base helps users quickly capture lots of pages. The stand folds into a convenient briefcase size with built-in carry handle. The Intel Reader will function without the Intel Portable Capture Station.
